WHere is a home-style interpretation of a drink from a new menu. It's a party-sized prepared mix that is loaded full of essence associated with Christmas time, which makes it ideal for your holiday party. Any leftover citrus syrup to use in brunch beverages, puddings, or to mix another batch of this cocktail.
The Bikini Cocktail
Yields 10 guests
For the Clementine Syrup (produces 750ml)
300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar
To make the Drink (makes 850ml, to serve 10)
400ml premium vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml citrus syrup (as made above)
A few cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Directions
Making the Cordial: Combine all the components in a pan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, mixing so the sugar melts. Next, turn off the stove allowing it to reach room temperature fully. Decant to a sealable bottle, close it keeping it in the refrigerator, it can be stored for up to four weeks.
For the Cocktail Base: Pour the specified liquids into one big jug, leave to sit for 60 minutes, then pass it through best through a fine cloth, making it completely strained.
For serving: Measure 85ml of the premix to a mixing glass containing ice, gently stirring gently for about 60 seconds to chill. Filter into an chilled martini glass or similar, top with the cranberries adding the final touch with a light spray of mandarin oil over the top.
